Your roof is designed to last a long time, but it will eventually need to be replaced. When the time comes to replace your roof, you can turn to our team at Just In Time Roofing & Restoration for help. We have extensive experience in the roofing industry, and you can count on us to take care of all your roof replacement needs. In this article, we will go over a few ways to tell when it’s time to schedule a roof replacement.

How to Tell if You Need a Roof Replacement

  • Balding or Damaged Shingles – One way to figure out if you need a roof replacement is to look at the condition of your shingles. If the shingles have noticeable bald spots where the asphalt granules have fallen off, they have visible cracks, or they are curling at the edges instead of lying flat, then you should give our team a call. It may be possible to replace the damaged or worn-out shingles, but in many cases, the best way to fix this problem is with a full replacement.
  • Age of the Roof – Another way to determine if you need a roof replacement is to consider its age. Even if your roof appears to be fine, if it’s more than 20 years old (for an asphalt roof), then we recommend getting it replaced. In addition, if you notice many of the homes in your neighborhood getting new roofs, then we encourage you to at least get your roof inspected—if those other homes were built around the same time as yours, they probably follow a similar schedule for roof replacement.
  • Sagging Roof Deck – A third way to figure out if you need a roof replacement is to look at the condition of the roof deck. If your roof appears to be sagging or sinking at any point, then it’s likely you’ll need a full replacement.
